So I had a great time last night. I just thought I would show you my hair style I had. It was really easy and I done it at about 6 o'clock in the morning, this picture was taken at about 11 o'clock in the evening so using a couple of hair pins it stayed in really well! And also a load of hair spray! This style is super easy and lasted all day and looks nice and elegant!

Day 18 of Blogmas Frilly Socks

Just something short and sweet this evening... Literally... Frilly socks!

There really sweet, super fashionable and a great stocking filler! All of mine are from Topshop personally I find the darker colours better as the light ones go grey quite fast espically this time of year with all the dark leather boots, wet weather and horrible mud!

I hope you like my pretty socks. I have grey, black, burgundy, cream, mint green and khaki!

Day 17 of Blogmas! Xmas Glitter Snow Nails

Today I am a full on sick note, after being so ill iv has to take the day off work so after I had been to the doctors and could sleep no more I decided to paint my nails. I started with my Sally Hanson hard as nails then I have used my models own Jade Stone and I have followed it up with Barry M hexagon glitter. I love love love glitter this time of year and it cheers me up when I'm not well as well as if you knock your nail while your base colour is drying the glitter will cover these imperfections! This Barry M glitter (I'm not sure of the name but its got a number 1 on the bottom of the bottle) is really good! Iv had it for quite a while but I think it is one of there program lines. I have only applied one coat of this on the nail which I think is a really good amount for a snowy look.
I think it gives an almost snowy Christmas look! I'm pretty happy with it and as iv said before if it starts to chip just add more glitter! When my nail is 100% dry I will add one coat of top coat to add a nice shine!

Day 12 of Blogmas, Banish Dry Lips

So with all this horrible cold weather I am suffering from REALLY dry lips all of the time! So here are some tips to keep them soft and moisturised!

1. Drink as much water as you can get your hands on! Preferably 2 liters a day! Dehydration is a massive reason why peoples dry lips won't go away so keep hydrated, its just as important in this cold wet weather as it is in the hot Sun in the summer!

2. Use a lip scrub, this will gently remove the dry skin you already have on your lips, I have sweet lips from Lush which is chocolate and vanilla flavour, which smells and tasted delisious as well as being 100% natural. You can use this when your on the go by licking your lips rubbing a small amount into your lips then licking it off (it is sugar after all) or you can do it in the bathroom with some warm water and a soft bristled toothbrush.

3. Use a good lip balm. I have about 8 diffirent lip balms and I use the Vaseline lip therapy stick with cocoa butter before bed. It's creamy and moisturises well and isn't to strong smelling when I'm off to sleep.

I hope you find this helpfull!

Day 11 of Blogmas! My Free Moldels Own Varnish

Iv decided I actually LOVE the models own nail varnish range after using it and checking it all out online! Seems as iv been band from buying myself anything till after Christmas these are some of the first things I will run out and buy! One of the reasons I like these is because they are so big, you get so much for your money and these are really pigmented!

As this colour is only a sample it dosent have a name but it's just pretty much a shimmery glittery gold. This colour is a really pretty metallic gold!

I hope you enjoy it! And I hope it wears well and won't chip to fast at work! Here is the result!

My top tip is to paint your nails before you have a shower or bath, then when you are in the shower and your hands have been soaked gently rub around the edge of your nails and the nail varnish on your skin will just rub off!

Day 9 of Blogmas Christmas Manicure

I hope you have all had a great weekend! I have had an amazing weekend, had a great day at work on Saturday followed by a lovely Christmas party and relaxing all day today! So keeping with the festive theme here is my Christmas manicure....
First I trimmed my natural nail, shaped them with the file, massaged some cuticle oil in, pushed them back and trimmed then buffed my nails so even out any uneven surfaces.
I started with my Sally Hanson nail varnish as a base coat, then I painted the tips of my nails with an white French tip colour I had. I do this free hand with the nail varnish brush, I start with one coat going vertically and once it is dry I put on a second coat horizontally to even out any lines. I wait for this to dry.
It doesn't have to be perfect as the glitter will help to hide any imperfections. I then put a thick layer of the glitter over my French tip! I have used my new models own Ibiza mix from the hedkandi range. I then wait for this to dry and finish with a top coat.
I have already had this nail varnish on for two days. It has lasted well I also think that glitter helps to prolong the tips as glitter is really hard to remove for your nails, it also disguises chips as it looks like pieces of glitter!
Please comment for any additional information or anything you would like me to try!

Day 8 Of Blogmas OOTD, December

Today is my works Christmas party so here I am all ready to go! Iv worn my hair down, straightened it and backcombed the roots.
I have my Topshop sequin dress on. It was £80 and I bought it last January! Its has little cap sleeves and a zip to do it up on the back! Iv got a pastel colured beaded necklace on from Allusions in BHS for £3 in the sale down from £12.50. I am wearing my Tissto watch that I wear every day! Iv got my ankle wedge boots on to I bought these about this time last year from Topshop.
I am wearing a mixture of fake tans as I had a little bit of different ones left. My two favorites are L'Oreal Sublime Gel and Boots No7 wear off Tan.

I hope you all have as much fun on your Christmas Parties as I sure I will do tonight!

Day 7 Of Blogmas Eyebrow Shaping

Iv got my works Christmas party's tomorrow so I'm prepping tonight! So far I have put on some fake tan, painted my nails and now I'm plucking my eyebrows! And here is how it is done....

First here is my eyebrow before started plucking. I prefer eyebrows that are slightly thicker rather than thin ones. I also probably plucked my eyebrow about a week to a week and a half ago!
My Eyebrow Before Plucking

To start you need to measure where you want you brow to start (the most inner point by your nose), where you want it to end (the most outer point by your hair line) and where you want it to peak (the highest point of the arch). To do this you will need a long straight object. I have used a make up brush but you could uses a pencil or anything else that it straight and relatively thin.

Inner Brow
So start in the middle and rest the brush against the most outer edge of your nose and lay it parallel to the bridge of your nose, any hair poking out the edge should be plucked away in short sharp motions in the direction of the hair growth using tweezers. Alternatively you could always wax this away with hot wax or cold wax strips.

Centre Point
To find the highest point look straight ahead and line the brush from your outer nose going straight through the centre of your pupil. This will show where the highest point of your arch should be. (If it is easier for you then you can draw this on with an eyebrow pencil or eye-liner as a rough guide)

Outer Edge, Widest Point
Finally to see where your eyebrows should naturally come to an end keep the brush against your nose and lay it against the outer corner of your eye. where it meets your eyebrow is where your eyebrow should naturally end. Any eyebrow hairs that are not in these guide lines should be plucked out.

Once I have done this I then brush all of my eyebrows up with an old mascara brush and trim then so that there are no stray ends.  I also have eyebrow hair which grows up instead of along in the inner eyebrow nearest to my nose so I trim this off straight to make it look neater. If I am going out I also draw my eyebrows in with a pencil, if you have dark hair you should use a colour 2 shades lighter than your hair colour and if you light hair you should use a colour 2 shades darker than your hair. I also put some hairspray onto the old mascara brush and comb it over my brows to keep them in place.

Here is a picture of my natural finished eyebrows as I am about to get into bed to have some beauty sleep ready for tomorrow. Have a good evening and I hope you all have great fun at your Christmas party's and I hope I have been able to help some people who do not know what to do with there eyebrows!

Day 5 of Blogmas! Face Mask!

So today I would like to show you my once a week facial routine! I don't get chance to do it every week but it is something I like to try and do as often as possible. It's just something to get right down into the blocked pours to help stop spots! I don't have bad skin but I do find I get occasional break outs of spots so I like to keep on top of my skin just to help! My main concern is ageing!!!

So here goes my step by step guide to nice clean fresh soft skin!

Step One. Tie back your hair and remove any eye make up you have on, or any waterproof/stubborn make up. I have used my No7 eye make up remover, but just use your personal favourite! When I run out of eye make up remover I like to use Olive Oil on cotton wool. It removes every trace of waterproof mascara and is good for delicate skin. Remember to be delicate when removing make up around they eyes as you do not want to add to ageing or damage the delicate skin.

Step Two. Wet your face with warm water to open up your pours. Then take your favourite face scrub, I have St Ives Invigorating Apricot Scrub, I have tried a lot of facial scrubs and this is one of my favourite ones by far, It has apricot in it and it is quite abrasive which is something I like a face scrub, I also tried a soap and glory one a couple of years ago called 'rub your nose in it' that was really good to! Take an amount about the size of a 1 pence piece and apply it to your face. Once you have gently massaged this into your damp skin for a couple of minutes making sure to pay extra attention to your T-zone and around the corners of your nose rinse off well with warm water.

Step Three. While your skin is still damp from rinsing off your face scrub take a generous sized portion of your facial mask, Sanctuary Deep Cleanse Facial 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask, and gently massage this into your damp skin. This mask is a warming charcoal treatment that cleans and purifies the skin. Massage it all over making sure you again apply this to tour T-zone and any break out areas, take extra care to avoid the eye area and lips as this skin is much more sensitive than the skin on the rest of your face. I applied this mask with my fingers so I could massage it into the skin. If it had been a regular face mask which would be applied on to skin I would have used an old clean make up brush.

Step Four. Sit back and relax for 5 minuets or longer if you have the time.

Step Five. Wash off the face mask with warm water. I removed mine in circular motions with my hand and water, after I had loosened the product I used a gentle flannel. you now have the option to splash your skin with the coldest water you can find to close and tighten the pores. I chose to skip this step as I am about to get into be and am very tired, but if I was doing this before a trip out or in the morning I would have done this. Next I dried my face by gently patting it dry with a towel.

Step Six. I now left my skin for a couple of minuets to settle before applying moisturiser.

My skin is now very smooth and very soft. I really like the warming sensation you get for this mask and my face feels very clean and fresh. This mask did not make my skin red or sore and I like that you only have to leave it on for 5 minutes so there is always time to use it. my skin also looks slightly brighter. I have not uploaded a picture as it doesn't look different enough that you could see on a picture but it feels very smooth and I am happy with the result!

I hope everyone is still enjoying advent!

Topshop Patent Lace up Boots

So iv got a new pair of boots that I am loving! They are like DM's but Topshop (obviously) they cost me £38 they are patent black, which I thought I would have scratched by now as I've worn them to work twice and wore them around London all day, with my outfit of the day on Sunday, but they are still looking like a dream! They are lace up so they are really secure although I have small ankles so they are very slightly roomey but pretty much fit like a glove.

There really comfortable, partical, fashionable and affordable. I know a couple of people who have DM's and they say wearing them in is the worst, I didn't have that problem with these and if your not looking to spend a lot of money but want a nice boot for the winter I would 100% recomend these!

Day 4 of Blogmas! Ibiza Mix Nail Varnish

Hope everybody is having a good advent so far and is on top of there Christmas shopping! I got LOADS of my Christmas shopping done on my lunch today! Feeling much calmer about Christmas now and much more at ease! Working in retail I have a massive fear that Christmas will be upon me before I know it and there will be no presents or time left and ill have to get everyone a Topshop voucher! (even my dad)

Anyway..... Swiftly moving on..... I tried out my new models own Ibiza Mix nail varnish today... I really like the colour and I really like that the glitter is 'thin' so it isn't poking off my nail or catching on anything. I'm also a huge fan if the different size chunks, however I don't like how watery it is. I had to apply 2-3 thick coats to get this coverage. I find with glitters the longer you have them the better they get! I hope this turns out to be the same! I shall keep you updated...

I wish you all good luck in your Christmas shopping!

Day 3 of Blogmas Ladurèe Macaroons

Hope everyone has had a great day... I'm still exhausted from my day out in London yesterday!
Today's new thing is Macaroons! I bought them in Harrods in the Ladurèe store, there is also a store in Covent Garden. I have been to the store in Paris too which was beautiful and just how you would imagine a French patisserie.
Packaging
Macaroons are amazing! They taste wonderful look beautiful, the packaging is elegant, which is also reflected in the product itself. If you have never tried these moreish treats I would recommend them to anyone and they come in every colour and flavour under the sun.

Day 2 Outfit Of The Day In The Big LDN, December

So... Day 2 of blogmas! I'm off out to London with the family today, it will be a new experience and iv got a brand new outfit!  So here goes!

My Outfit
Today from head to toe I am wearing Topshop (as most days) iv got my freedom gold coloured skull earrings, I'm wearing a speckled grey T-shirt dress £26 which is quite short but super comfy then a cream cardigan £38, it has quite short selves which I like as most my jumpers and cardigans at the moment have been oversized. I then have some 120 denier wine coloured tights. Iv got some khaki ankle socks with a black frill around the top and then some Dr Martin style patient boots £38, these are great as they didn't need to be worn in and I am such a wimp at wearing in new shoes (i try to make someone else do it for me) so theses are perfect! Iv got my Jade Stone models own nail varnish on and a mid finger ring. I am really a massive fan of the mid finger ring, I think they are really flattering and I just like them! I also have a half open twisted leaf ring and a oversized stone in the middle which goes nicely with my nail varnish.
I have got my Parker from Topshop last year and my Russian style hat to keep me warm! And I bought my bag in the summer sale for a wedding and haven't stopped using it since! I like a small bag because when I have a large bag I just end up filling it with rubbish!

I think this is a cute outfit and will be suitable for a day trip out! I hope you all have a great day whatever you do. I know I will!

Day 1 My Blogmas Theme

So I have had all day to think about what theme I will bog about over blogmas and iv decided that I am going to have newness as my theme! It can be anything from a new thing, new experience, new product, visiting a new place or meeting new people.
I have a new nail varnish/varnishes to show you that I got today on my lunch break when I voyaged down to Boots (can I go a single blog without mentioning Boots?) So I bought 2 Models Own nail varnishes £5 each the first one is from the Ice Cream Sundae range and called Jade Stone, I have been looking for a pastel green sort of colour and I decided on this one. The second one is from the Hed Kandi range called Ibiza Mix I have also been looking for a multi colour glitter that is not garish and has smaller and larger chunks and this seemed to be quiet a good choice and because I bought two Models Own products I got a free models own nail art kit!!! It comes with a free 10ml golden nail varnish and a nail pen/long brush. I wanted a gold nail varnish for the festive season so this one will be a good place to start!
What I bought
Here is picture of a swatch of the Jade stone. This is after one coat, this is a VERY pigmented nail varnish. I think these varnishes are quite runny, I think this is good as it dries quite fast. I will be applying a second coat in the morning just because I feel it would have a nicer finish but if I didn't have time to then I would be quite happy with just one coat! I used my Sally Hanson hard as nails as a base coat and ill show the Ibiza mix when I use it!

I hope everyone else enjoys trying out new things in December and enjoys my new experiences for Blogmas!!!!

Jewellery Haul, Freedom at Topshop

In my previous entry I mentioned I had been on a mini jewellery haul so here it is!

Everything I got I got in the sale so my 3 pack of rings, which contains precious stones I got them for £2.50 they were originally £10.00 so that was a SUPER bargain! which I was really happy with! The middle ring is my favourite but the cross one is really pretty. The single one has a large stone in the middle, it is a pale green colour and looks a but swirly, I don't think that that comes out very clearly in the picture. The actual ring has a pattern in the gold around the edge of the stone and the ring has flowers and leaves in the metal. Its really pretty but I think it is balanced out well with the size of the stone as I'm not to keen on girly girly pretty things. This was meant to be £7.50 and I got it for £1.50!!!! BARGAIN!!!!!!

I got two Pairs of earrings, the first pair are silver crosses, they are slightly weighty and I like how chunky they are. They were originally £4.00 and they were marked at half price so I got them for £2.00! The second set are some brassy looking monkey studs! I thought hey were really cute. I got them for £2.00 form £5.00. And lastly I bought this cat necklace that has little gems as eyes! This was £2.50 down from £7.50. I think this will make a nice present for Christmas so I am going to keep this to add towards a present.... if I don't end up wearing it first!

I hope you like my mini Jewellery haul!

Outfit Of The Day with Topshop! Work Look, November

So I had work today and took a picture of my outfit when I got home! Iv been up since 6.30 and took the picture at 8pm so please forgive the slightly dragged through a bush backwards look! I went for the oversized jumper and wet look legging today... So here is my outfit in more detail!

Outfit Of The Day
Firstly I have on a black chiffon blouse what has pleats over the bust, this is over a year old, I want one of this years ones with the metal collar tips and I want one of the jewellery collar tips but I haven't found one I really like yet! Over my blouse I have my bald eagle jumper, this is new its £55 and from Topshop (my whole outfit is Topshop) I really really really LOVE this jumper, I could wear at all day every day its so warm and soft and I love the eagles knitted into the jumper with the wings coming down the arms. I am really fond of the collar out of the jumper look as well because if you are top heavy round neck lines can make you look larger but I feel a collar resolves this. Also I would say its on trend and just a generally nice look for all ages. I really don't like the look of I'm wearing a jumper and nothing else.

On my legs I have some matte wet look panel leggings they are very comfortable they are £22, its quite cold at the moment so I have got a pair of the plain black extra long Topshop leggings underneath to keep warm as the faux leather is very thin so is very cold. I liked the matte wet look leggings so much last year I wore them to death and needed a new pair this year although I wish that last year I had realised the trick of wearing a second pair underneath to keep you warmer as iv already said they are sooooo cold! You cant tell that you have to pairs on so win win!

Hair style and blurry earrings
Again I an wearing last year's brogues as they are super comfortable and very practical for my job as well as be fashionable!

Iv accessorised with some silver coloured cross earrings  I bought these in a mini Freedom haul I had yesterday so ill post a blog on all the jewellery I bought at an amazing bargain price the other day! I had 2 rings on but did not wear a necklace as I have to wear a lanyard for work.

I put my hair up into an easy and stylish bun using a hair doughnut I bought from Primark ages ago for £1, this was a barging buy and I recommend that if you have hair long enough to wrap around one of these to get one to use when your in a rush as it nearly always looks great and is so fast to do!
I am also wearing my boots Brown nail varnish from my previous blog. I hope you all had a good day today! Goodnight!

Elegant Nail Design With No7

So this is my current nail design... I hope you like it, comment if you have any questions!

Here is my nail design I half copied off a work colleague and half made up myself, so I will name this design the Lezley on behalf of Lezley herself!!!

My final result
So I started by using a base coat, I use Sally Hanson hard as nails, I always use this one, its a good base coat but peels off fast if you don't apply a colour and just want the natural look so I wouldn't recommend it for that. I do find when you layer it it also does strengthen your nails!
Next I painted 2 coats of No7 pigment rich colour number 23, this is a pigment rich colour but I think you still need 2 coats as otherwise it is slightly streaky!
On top of that I applied my Nail art pen which has a brush and nib along with a pot of black rhinestones attached to it. I got this as a duo set with a gold from Topshop I think it cost £7.50 I git it quite a while ago but they still sell them now, I used the pen to draw a line down my ring finger nail, I haven't been able to do the straightest line but I think with practice or on someone else it would be easier!
I then applied a line of my base coat along the nail bed of my thumb line and using the end of a hair clip dotted in some of the base coat to be able to pick up the rhinestones to apply them to my nail, I applied 6 rhinestones to each nail bed.
Finally I applied one final coat of the base coat to the whole nail, once it was all dry to stop any colour bleeding! And here is my final result!

Outfit Of The Day with Topshop and CleanCut, November

So... I did end up leaving the house today! So here is my first outfit of the day!
CleanCut t-shirt, Topshop Trousers, Topshop Brogues
I'v got my Topshop lace up black leather brogues they are about 2 years old and have worn really well! My trousers are brand new (also Topshop, iv got sooooo much Topshop stuff!!!) with an checked pattern. They are high waisted trousers with a zip up the side they cost £28 and are like a second skin the black part of the pattern is flocked/velvet so they have a really nice texture and are supper soft! My t-shirt is by CleanCut a new up and coming clothing brand based online. The T-shirt cost me £15 + p&p and is in a large. I really like this brand and the t-shirts are really high quality! I will post the website link for the t-shirts at the bottom and the trousers are currently available in most Topshop stores as well as online. I think the trousers would also look nice with a bright block colour if white is not for you!
