Boots Sale Haul

Merry Belated Christmas and Happy New Year everyone! I hope you have all had wonderful times, not worked to hard, eaten lots and been merry!

Today I just wanted to do a post, as I haven't done one for a while, about my great bargains I bought in Boots! So for anyone who doesn't know Boots is one of my favourite shops and I LOVE LOVE LOVE their christmas sale! So I went there and had a look around and I grabbed myself some AMAZING bargains!

I bought the soap and glory 'Bag' which was ment to be £35 but everything was half price so it cost £17.50. A Mark Hill brunette hair set which was ment to be £10 but was £5. A Charles Worthington textured updo kit £12 for £6 and a vintage trinket pot which was £8 and I got it for £4. One of the best things about Boots is all year round you get points with your purchases so I only paid £21.50 for everything!

So in the soap and glory bag this is what I received....

From left to right 125ml of Endless Glove, I have not used this before so it will be nice to try a new hand cream out! This hand cream can be used as a regular hand cream or an overnight hand mask with gloves when applied generously! It smells beautiful, all the products in this set have a very similar scent which they describe as 'notes of frozen yuzu, orange oil, green fig and jungle pomelo essence' I don't actually know what most of that is but I can tell you it smells nice! The only thing that would have made this better would have been a pair of cotton gloves to use with the mask.

Next is 500 ml of Foam Call I have used this before it is a shower come bath body wash. I really like this product again the scent is delicious it's really bubbly and leaves your skin feeling very soft!

500ml of butter yourself with a pump. I really hope the pump is good as when a pump works well it's one of the best things, it makes applying the moisturiser much easier, but when the product is too thick or the pump breaks it becomes a useless nightmare! I have not used this product before so I will have to see what it is like but I have 100% faith in soap and glory products so I think it will be amazing!

250ml of Pulp Friction which is a body scrub, again I have not used this before so I'll have to try it out and last but not least a shower cap! I love shower caps they make a quick shower so much easier for someone with long hair! This shower cap is also pretty glam so you could definitely open the door to the postman in it!

And of course it all came in a big zip up vanity case which I am sure I will use a lot!

So far my favourite thing I bought has to be the Charles Worthington textured up do kit.

As you most probably already know I am a massive fan of a bun, especially with a bun ring. They are super quick, super easy and most importantly super glam!

This kit came with a small bun, which I needed as I only had a large bun ring and some brush out strong hold hair spray. Now both of these things are good but the pink can.... The volume and bounce texturising spray is something else!!! It says it give a back comb effect, height texture and volume and that it is non greasy! It is all of these things and much much more! It is amazing! It gives my hair such an amazing feel and volume and texture! It's as though my hair doubles in size but in the right kind of way! It's just amazing. I will 100% buy this product again! I will try and do a post with a step by step guide on how to achieve the look with these products so you can see how much it transforms my hair!

One of the reasons I love buying these kits is you get the chance to try products you never normally would buy or use. I would have never bought a spray like this as it's not anything I thought I would have needed and I would think I could achieve this with normal hair spray. But the fact is I can't and I wouldn't have been able to do it!

And finally I bought the Mark Hill brunette hair kit.

This came with shampoo, conditioner, anti-humidity shine spray and hairspray. I haven't used any of these products yet but I will be taking them to my boyfriends to stay there so I am not caught short when we decide to do something last minute with messy hair!

If you have tried any of there products befor then let me know what u think of them, or if you got any super sale bargains let me know what you got and what you thought of them!

Happy new year! Peace out!

NOTD with Models Own scented

So since I tried out the models own scented Strawberry Tart Iv been wanting to get another one. I really like the look of the pastel purple in Grape Juice and have been lusting after it for ages now! Lucky for me pay day has arrived to today I went and picked it up!

It smells amazing! I didn't think I'd say it but it smells even better than the Strawberry Tart! The smell reminds me of children's shampoo! I know its strange but its really nice.... I know deep down we all wish we could still use the shampoo out of the colourful bottles shaped like fish and splash about with them in the bath....

.... anyway back to the point! As always I find models own nail varnishes get better the longer you have them, you can't really tell because I have added a pretty spotty design (if I do say so myself) that even with 2 coats I found it quite translucent in places but this does not put me off as the varnishes tend to stay nice and thin in the bottles for a long time.

I started by painting my nails with a base coat, then painted on 2 coats of the Grape Juice. Then for this design I just used a hair slide as I do not have a doter, although I should invest, to make a line of dots across my nail! It was really fast and only took a couple of minuets. I started with the Strawberry Tart by models own then for the second line used Barry M Gelly shine in Grapefruit 311.

I didn't use different sized 'doters' to do the different size dots, I just used the back of the hair slide at a slanty angle for the bigger dots so a larger surface area was covering my nail and I used just the tip for the smaller dots so a smaller surface area was touching the nail. I also only dipped once on the smaller dots and dipped into the colour every time for the larger dots.

To finish it off I applied a coat of my super fast drying super shine Seche Vite top coat! you can still 100% smell the grape scent through the top coat, although you can't small the strawberry as the Grape does overpower it but that is what I wanted!

Sorry about the slight mess around the edges of my nails it always look much worse in the photos than in real life! I hope you like this look and if you haven't yet I recommend you try the scented colours out! When I got these today they where on buy on get one half price in boots! I hope you have a nice weekend! Let me know if you try this or something similar out!

Bargin find!

So I don't just want to start blogging every time I buy a new nail varnish but.... The other day I was staying away from home and I forgot to bring any nail varnish... I know it really was that bad... And I was a bit short on cash so I popped into Boots to see if they had anything cheap and I saw that the miss sporty nail varnishes were only about £1.99 so I picked up this nice nude colour as iv been after one for a while and I thought this would just do till I was back home! This was on Tuesday and its now Saturday night, I have not touched it up once! I used my Sally Hanson base coat (an old gloopy one I keep in my bag just incase) and then put 2 coats of the colour on and I can't see a single chip! I think its amazing I'm so impressed! It's miss sporty lasting colour maxi brush, up to 10 days in no 24. It applied well and dryed fast it says lasts up to 10 days but they all say that and I tend to find they only last a couple of days but I'm so impressed with this I would buy more in the future! Anyway I just wanted to pass this info on! The pic looks more patchy and translucent than it looks on the actual nail but I recommend you try it out!

Textured Nail Effect by Barry M

So I haven't posted in ages because iv been so busy with work since the new year, there aren't many social events so there is no need to keep up the nice nails and I haven't found many exciting new things to blog about.... But recently iv been seeing the Barry M texture nail effects so I decided to pick one up! They were about 3 or 4 pound and I got it from Boots.
So here are the results! I painted these yesterday night and iv worn it to work all day and I haven't used a top coat ,although my new favourite top coat is the rimmel matt top coat which lasts up to ten days, I love it, it turns any nail varnish into an elegant matt version! The textured nail varnish was quite strange when I first applied it as I'm used to smooth nails, it went on smooth but as it dryed it started to show its texture, its how I imagine it would be if you mixed sand into nail varnish, although this has a very fine texture even though its looks quite course, but as the day went on I got used to it. This is two coats, it drys fast and has an even coverage. This colour is Atlantic road no 305. So far its worn really well and I'm pleased with the result!

Day 5 of Blogmas! Face Mask!

So today I would like to show you my once a week facial routine! I don't get chance to do it every week but it is something I like to try and do as often as possible. It's just something to get right down into the blocked pours to help stop spots! I don't have bad skin but I do find I get occasional break outs of spots so I like to keep on top of my skin just to help! My main concern is ageing!!!

So here goes my step by step guide to nice clean fresh soft skin!

Step One. Tie back your hair and remove any eye make up you have on, or any waterproof/stubborn make up. I have used my No7 eye make up remover, but just use your personal favourite! When I run out of eye make up remover I like to use Olive Oil on cotton wool. It removes every trace of waterproof mascara and is good for delicate skin. Remember to be delicate when removing make up around they eyes as you do not want to add to ageing or damage the delicate skin.

Step Two. Wet your face with warm water to open up your pours. Then take your favourite face scrub, I have St Ives Invigorating Apricot Scrub, I have tried a lot of facial scrubs and this is one of my favourite ones by far, It has apricot in it and it is quite abrasive which is something I like a face scrub, I also tried a soap and glory one a couple of years ago called 'rub your nose in it' that was really good to! Take an amount about the size of a 1 pence piece and apply it to your face. Once you have gently massaged this into your damp skin for a couple of minutes making sure to pay extra attention to your T-zone and around the corners of your nose rinse off well with warm water.

Step Three. While your skin is still damp from rinsing off your face scrub take a generous sized portion of your facial mask, Sanctuary Deep Cleanse Facial 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask, and gently massage this into your damp skin. This mask is a warming charcoal treatment that cleans and purifies the skin. Massage it all over making sure you again apply this to tour T-zone and any break out areas, take extra care to avoid the eye area and lips as this skin is much more sensitive than the skin on the rest of your face. I applied this mask with my fingers so I could massage it into the skin. If it had been a regular face mask which would be applied on to skin I would have used an old clean make up brush.

Step Four. Sit back and relax for 5 minuets or longer if you have the time.

Step Five. Wash off the face mask with warm water. I removed mine in circular motions with my hand and water, after I had loosened the product I used a gentle flannel. you now have the option to splash your skin with the coldest water you can find to close and tighten the pores. I chose to skip this step as I am about to get into be and am very tired, but if I was doing this before a trip out or in the morning I would have done this. Next I dried my face by gently patting it dry with a towel.

Step Six. I now left my skin for a couple of minuets to settle before applying moisturiser.

My skin is now very smooth and very soft. I really like the warming sensation you get for this mask and my face feels very clean and fresh. This mask did not make my skin red or sore and I like that you only have to leave it on for 5 minutes so there is always time to use it. my skin also looks slightly brighter. I have not uploaded a picture as it doesn't look different enough that you could see on a picture but it feels very smooth and I am happy with the result!

I hope everyone is still enjoying advent!

Elegant Nail Design With No7

So this is my current nail design... I hope you like it, comment if you have any questions!

Here is my nail design I half copied off a work colleague and half made up myself, so I will name this design the Lezley on behalf of Lezley herself!!!

My final result
So I started by using a base coat, I use Sally Hanson hard as nails, I always use this one, its a good base coat but peels off fast if you don't apply a colour and just want the natural look so I wouldn't recommend it for that. I do find when you layer it it also does strengthen your nails!
Next I painted 2 coats of No7 pigment rich colour number 23, this is a pigment rich colour but I think you still need 2 coats as otherwise it is slightly streaky!
On top of that I applied my Nail art pen which has a brush and nib along with a pot of black rhinestones attached to it. I got this as a duo set with a gold from Topshop I think it cost £7.50 I git it quite a while ago but they still sell them now, I used the pen to draw a line down my ring finger nail, I haven't been able to do the straightest line but I think with practice or on someone else it would be easier!
I then applied a line of my base coat along the nail bed of my thumb line and using the end of a hair clip dotted in some of the base coat to be able to pick up the rhinestones to apply them to my nail, I applied 6 rhinestones to each nail bed.
Finally I applied one final coat of the base coat to the whole nail, once it was all dry to stop any colour bleeding! And here is my final result!

November Favourites and Empty Bottles Review

As I didn't end up leaving the house today due to bad weather and having the day off work I decided not to do an Outfit Of The Day and save that for another day, instead I have decided to show you my November Favourite products and give them a review along with my empty bottles as they are products I WILL be purchasing again! If anyone has any thoughts on any of these products of questions please leave a comment! So here goes starting form the left moving towards the right (in the picture)

You will be able to find most of these products in your local Boots or Superdrug

1. Batiste Dry Shampoo- with a hint of colour, dark and deep brown.

Colour on skin
I decided to first buy this product when I went to Bestival a couple of years ago and since then I have found it to be quite useful in day to day life. My hair type is long with greasy roots and dry ends.

So I really love this product, it saves me from having to wash my hair every other day, I like to leave it 2 days between washing if I can help it rather than ever other day as my ends can get really dry and when you have long hair the dryer it is the harder it is to look after! This product saves my ends from being dried out! It keeps my hair looking fresh and it is scented so it smells amazing! because I have dark brown hair it looks greasy so fast and this stops that! it also adds volume and texture and can make your hair easier to style while also adding lift!
The only down side to this product is that it runs out quite fast even though I got a bigger can. If you spray it on you face (by your hair line) by mistake then it leaves a brown mark on your skin, it wipes off easily but is still a nuisance. I think this will only apply to the coloured sprays. When I itch my scalp then the product gathers up under my nails making them look dirty. But these are only 2 small problems and I think I would continue to buy the brown one as I would rather have dirty nails and wipe colour off my head than have powdery white hair!
I got this can from Boots on offer but it usually costs around £2.99

2. No7 Beautiful Skin Eye Make-Up Remover

I have been using this particular eye make-up remover now for at least 3 years. I have tried and tested may different eye make-up removers and for me this is the best product I have found... by far! It is gentle and suitable for all skin types it is one of the double layer products you shake together before using, I put it on a cotton pad, press on my eye for a couple of seconds to soften the make-up and gently wipe my eye following the faces massage lines to avoid tugging the skin and creating premature wrinkles to wipe away any traces of make up. The bottle always lasts me a couple of months even though it is small as you only need a small amount because it is so good. I always pick it up with one of the No7 vouchers to save £5! It is normally priced at £8.50.

I find this product so good that if I have any stubborn make-up that I can not remove I use this product. It removes all traces of waterproof mascara! I would rate this product 9/10!!! Probably in my top 5 all time beauty products!

3. Boots Mango Body Butter

If you cant tell by now I do really like Boots products! This was a present I got for my birthday and I use it when my skin is feeling dry or times when I may need extra moisture e.g after shaving!

It smells AMAZING! I also have the body wash and scrub (also birthday presents) I like this product because it is organic and fairtrade. Its very think and creamy it is made with Shea butter and mango extract. with this cold weather coming in everyone needs a good staple moisturiser and I think is one makes a nice pick me up or great present! and as I already mentioned smells great!

4. Cutex Nourishing Nail Polish Remover

This Nail varnish remover again is one of the best I have found and is one of my empty bottles. I need to get a new one! It has lasted me a long time and is not one of those removers that gets weaker the closer it gets to the bottom of the bottle! This Remover contains Vitamins and moisturisers and a nail whitening formula. It is for weak nails, which I have from time to time where they flake at the tips, I would recommend this product even if your nails are not weak as it is good at removing all polishes and whitening stained nails from other varnishes. It even removes glitter nail varnish quite easily. I never thought I would say this about a nail varnish remover but it smells really nice as well!

The down sides to this remover are that it contains Acetone, I'm not bothered by this but I know some people are. The other down side is that it stays on your fingers, not to the point that it effects your new nail varnishes you would apply but if you lick your finger or when your eating then it tastes horrible for several hours after even when you use soap! I think the good out weighs the bad and I would rate this remover 9/10 as a product.

5. Garnier Eye Roll-On

I bought this product in Sainsburys it was on an offer at the time and I picked it up as it was something I wanted to try, it contains caffeine and is to be rolled on the skin under the eye, I gently pat the product in with my ring finger once it has settled on the skin for a couple of moments. I like to use this first thing in the morning when I wake up. With the long dark mornings and getting up so early for work I feel my eyes need a little bit more TLC than they have in previous years, I think this is a good product for teens up to just before you start developing deeper wrinkles, If you have deeper wrinkles I don't think that this product will work well for you but if you have small wrinkles or dark bags under your eyes and use this every morning it will help to tighten, brighten and lift the skin, but only a small amount. I am unsure if this is a product that has a feel good factor rather than making a physical difference but either way when I apply it at 6 in the morning it wakes me up (because it's so cold) and I feel better for using it!

Please comment or leave any questions, feedback or suggestions on products for me to review!
